Angel Moreno is a contemporary realist painter and draftsman based in Evans, Georgia. Born in Mexico City, he grew up surrounded by the cultural force and visual storytelling of the Mexican muralists whose influence continues to inform his sensibility. Their bold narratives, emotional clarity, and commitment to community shaped the foundation of his artistic voice.
Moreno’s work radiates color, rhythm, and a vibrant sense of place. His background as a classically trained musician and flamenco guitarist brings a lyrical, expressive quality to his visual compositions. Drawing from memory, heritage, and the emotional fullness of everyday life, he creates paintings that balance introspection with celebration.
He is currently developing his debut oil series, Los Luchadores, a body of work that explores identity, resilience, and cultural symbolism through dynamic color and expressive form. The series marks a significant step in the evolution of his practice and reflects one of the most joyful and creatively expansive chapters of his life.

My work begins with stories. I am drawn to the moments, memories, and cultural echoes that shape identity, and I use painting to trace the layered space between where we come from and who we become. Growing up between cultures taught me to see art as both an anchor and a bridge, a place where history and personal experience meet in a language beyond words.
I create work that explores resilience, belonging, and the emotional landscapes carried in everyday life. Color, gesture, and material become ways of thinking and ways of slowing the world long enough to look closely at the forces that shape us. Whether through symbolism, narrative, or abstraction, I am interested in how memory transforms, how heritage evolves, and how a single image can hold both conflict and clarity.
At the heart of my practice is a belief that art creates space for reflection, dialogue, and connection across difference. I approach the studio as a site of curiosity and conversation, where experimentation and intention come together to reveal something authentic.
My goal is to make work that resonates, work that honors the past, engages the present, and invites viewers to recognize a part of themselves within the story.
